FAQ

What if the class times offered don’t work with my schedule?
We will do our best to accommodate each and every potential student, but have limited time and space. We will be in contact with students and keep updated class times available on the website.

What is your attendance policy once you’ve signed up for a class?  We guarantee 1 (one) unexcused absence per 6 (six) weeks where an alternate day/time or an extended week will be supplied to grant the make up class. Any additional unexcused absences beyond that 1 (one) do not come with the expectation that we will automatically be able to accommodate additional makeup classes.  Excused absences (vacation, holidays, etc) require us to be notified at least 10 days in advance that you’ll be absent so we can adjust our instructor schedule accordingly.

What happens if I register and start a course but can’t finish the session because of a change in my schedule? Will I get a refund?
We book each room for the full 6 weeks once a student registers for that session. So, once the session has begun, refunds cannot be given as we have no way of filling that slot as the session is already in progress and can’t be started/stopped individually. If an extenuating circumstance comes up that is out of a students’ control, we reserve the right to offer credit for rescheduling during a future session. However, if you register but contact us prior to 48 hours before the session begins, a refund for the course will be given.

What happens if I register for a specialty class and don’t show up at the time I registered for? Will I get a refund?
Unfortunately, no. Since our classes are small in nature and require us to schedule an instructor for the class, if you miss your date without notifying us then you will not get a refund. If you need to cancel before the class, you have up to 48 hours before the class to notify us.

What kind of equipment do you use for the DJ course?
We teach primarily on turntables for a vinyl-based setup, but we won’t ignore the growing popularity of CD turntables and even the newer technologies such as controllers. Nonetheless, our instruction is designed to teach you the fundamental skills and principles which can be applied to any of these equipment mediums.

What kind of equipment do you use for the production course?
We teach the latest version of Ableton Live on a Mac. We also utilize the Ableton Push 2.

Can we pay for one class at a time?
Unfortunately not. We require payment up front for the NOVICE (Level 1) courses, namely so that we can organize our courses, monitor student enrollment and maximize attendance. We do, however, offer a weekly auto-payment option for AMATEUR (Level 2), INTERMEDIATE (Level 3) and ADVANCED (Level 4) so that once you’re currently enrolled, you can set you up weekly payments to break the classes up into small installments via PayPal. This does make the classes more affordable rather than having to pay a larger sum at once.

How do we pay for the classes?
We accept payment online via Paypal (secure method through our online course scheduler) as well as in person. We accept all major credit cards, cash and personal checks. We’ve also recently initiated an auto-payment method via PayPal so that you can set up to pay smaller weekly installments once you’ve completed the NOVICE (Level 1) class.

Is there an age limit for the classes?
No, there isn’t specifically an age limit for the classes, however there are particular concepts that may make it a little more challenging for children under/around the age of 10 or 11 years old. We will likely be offering a Kid’s Class specifically designed for the younger ones just to keep it fun and not lose interest with some of the more mundane (but important) details. Keep an eye out on our site and calendar for the Kid’s Class.

How exactly do I sign up for classes?
Navigate to the Courses & Classes page and follow the instructions to sign up for any available classes, or check out our tutorial below. Please note that for our courses, we only offer public signups for our Novice class (the first in the series of the course). You may also sign up for any specialty classes we have.
